SATURDAY

Chiara and I made a quick run to Kinko's to copy flyers to insert into the Runestaff. I also faxed out the portajohn contract.

Spoke with Thedrich and Gwyneth today. Happily some more things are progressing for meals at Cattle Raids. Requested finance committee meeting item next week for feast budget; I started pushing for this to happen months ago!

Although I was late getting out to mow the lawn tonight I still managed to get through it all. It was late dusk when I finished though. Around 11pm there was a loud boom from somewhere behind the house, and then soon another two. I turned out the lights downstairs to go up and peek out windows but couldn't see anything stirring. Does some neighbor still have fireworks from the 4th? Didn't quite really sound like that though.

SUNDAY

Chiara's call got me moving this afternoon. I picked her up to go to the library to get the August Runestaff organized on the computers there. I passed the workbox over to her and promised 'advisory' service as needed before heading home.

When Leofwyna emerged from her bed we both cleaned up and went out for a movie. This one was SALT, a female-Bourne type spy movie complete with a rather abrupt end making it clear there'd be more to come.

WEDNESDAY

Delivered the Runestaff and broccoli to Gyda this morning then spent time this afternoon getting the flyer printed out and duplicated to include in it. This evening I went out to Walt Library park for the social moot and started distributing the Runestaffs. I got to visit with Isadora about noon inn for Cattle Raids; no one else is stepping up for it so she'll probably be doing it. Zino and Vasilla are set to handle MOY.

THURSDAY

Sewed up Leofwyna's skirt and hemmed up the sleaves on her new blue top. Ran out to Hancocks to pick up some black elastic to finish the waist of the skirt. We went to supper at the China Buffet when she came home from Shelly's. Back at home I started sewing up s piece of what I think is linen/cotton for a new shift as a swatch burned to soft ash.

SATURDAY

Picked up Chiara this afternoon and we got the RUNESTAFF 99% put together then reviewed my arrangements for Cattle Raids in August. It's good to have someone in the loop as deputy 'just in case'. It also organized my thoughts on what still needed to be accomplished down the details.

SATURDAY

Thought today was household so I whisked through the rest of preparing the Runestaff to mail, dropped them in at the post office, made a quick stop at the library for a few more David Weber books for the weekend and went to Sash's. Discovered household is next Saturday... oops!

Later back at home while Leofwyna worked on her front of the house flower bed I thoroughly weeded and reseeded my four veggie beds. I discovered during my weeding process that there was literally nothing left of five potato sets so I used the space for beans, carrots and spinach. Ended the exercise by helping Leofwyna put in the rest of her plants in order to beat the dusk.

SATURDAY

I was off to the JAV demo in good time for a change. It was nice that the heavy set up was already done; made it a lot easier just dealing with the displays. It didn't rain but the wind was really intense all day. My small sunshade had 2-3 holes ripped into it; good thing we were planning on retiring it anyway. I've already got the duck to make the next pair (big and small) sunshades; just need to make 'em up. And I plan to remove the cotton webbing from the old big sunshade, cut it down some and replace the webbing and put in new grommits. It should be good for demos and things awhile yet. Way too much fabric to just ditch it.

Leofwyna came out at the end of day since she got put on-call to help us break down. Since everyone was rather worn down by all the wind her help was greatly appreciated. Back at home Leofwyna said she'll get up early and pick up Maggie tomorrow since I'll be busy. Yay!

SUNDAY

Sure did sleep soundly last night. Yesterday had really worn me out in spite of the naps. I met up with Chiara when she got off work and we started preparing the June newsletter. Since I hadn't received the letter from Sash to include in it we stopped over at his place to remind him we needed it and while we were there Rich looked over the CD with the addresses and we think we figured out a way for me to deal with it. I haven't tried it yet but I'm sanquine about it.

Leofwyna decided we'd wait to get Maggie Tuesday so we wouldn't be leaving her alone at the house right off. Pooh! I wasn't going to be gone all that long. Anyway she headed off for her evening before I got back and I loafed the rest of the evening.

THURSDAY

It being a grey and dreary day, I worked on RUNESTAFF paperwork during the afternoon. I never did get the address situation cleared up but I'll get it dealt with before next month's issue comes out. When Leofwyna got up and finished running her errands and planting her rose bushes she took me out to supper. While we were eating a great, heavy rainstorm rolled through with lots of thundar and lightning... dinner theater!

FRIDAY

Was contacted, finally, by Premiere so that process has begun taking shape. It has been mainly a slow, unproductive day but I'm enjoying it.

SATURDAY

Trolled around for rummage sales and stopped in at one of the Goodwill stores this afternoon, enjoying the beautiful weather. Stopped in at Hancocks for more white thread. Didn't find anything interesting though so returned home for computer and kitty cuddles.

SUNDAY

We spent outside time dealing with bits of yardwork. I turned up the east end of the big east compost pile. Fortunately I did not find any yellow jackets (although one came visiting while I was working and made me a little leery for awhile. I'm glad to report our dead-winter visit digging it up and pouring in boiling water seems to have done the trick.) Anyway, I alternated between mixing up the compost piles and digging out the western-most veggie bed and thoroughly wore myself out. The night ended with pulling out another jigsaw puzzle with Leofwyna.

MONDAY

I made a lunch run, stopped in at Goodwill (Travelling Sale = one normal priced garment then up to four more at $1/ea) where I picked up a great shirt so added in four more 'cutter' items. Back at home I worked awhile on one of the weedy beds trying to get the crabgrass roots removed. What a tangled mess that is. Tonight we finished lastnight's puzzle and blasted through another smaller one.

TUESDAY

It rained through the morning and well into the afternoon. A good day to stay in and play in the internet and then play with the fabric scraps some more.

WEDNESDAY

Danger, danger... caught a horrendous computer virus... too late in the day apparently to reach the office that can deal with the problem.

THURSDAY

Spent hours attempting to contact, contacting and then waiting for the cleaning up process but finally about 6pm I was able to get back on the computer. It was a dreadful experience... however did I used to manage without it? Anyway, I finally was able to work on the Runstaff and get it sent out to Gyda for printing, whew!

FRIDAY

When the sun broke through this afternoon I went out to deal with a list of errands I'd accumulated this week. Returned an overdue book and extended an audiobook at the library; picked up my prescription [ouch - the new insurance doesn't pick up much of that bill]; stopped in at the mechanic 'cause the car is running rough again [still?] and made an appointment for a diagnostic test Monday; and stopped in for Goodwill's 99-cent sales but didn't find much [just a couple cotton shirts and two demi-bushel baskets].

Back at home I pulled a box out of storage and sorted through some geneology notebooks and wiped down the cover of my Rector book with clorox/water to remove potential mildew. That's something else I want to get back into once we have the house whipped back into shape. Meanwhile I put most of it back in a fresh box back in storage.

Tonight a great black cloud rolled through with immense lightning displays... I spent a good deal of time watching the show.
