SATURDAY-SUNDAY
Recently Leofwyna decided we must have a craft day to finish the cross-stitch ornaments she's been working on for the past twenty years. There's roughly three dozen of them and it's thought that somewhere in the flood of samples we've been working with lately there must certainly be enough interesting Victorian type fabrics to back these ornaments with.
So Saturday evening she had Valentino's pizza delivered for supper, brought home a couple movies and we commenced with the craft session. It soon developed that while she applied tassels, charms and buttons and matched up fronts with backs that I would spray-glue fronts to backs and carefully snip away the excess. This later step is extremely fiddly and laborious. We put in about eight hours Saturday night and another nine hours today. We're not toally finished but perhaps 90 percent done. I must confess these ornaments are extremely attractive and I'm eager to see how the Christmas tree looks with 'em on it.
The push to complete this project is because we decorate for Christmas shortly after Thanksgiving and plans for the coming weekend is to clean house, decorate and pre-cook for Thanksgiving dinner with the other sister. Leofwyna lo-o-o-oves holidays and goes all out over them. Personally I love holidays for the leisure they represent to me... the leisure sometimes doesn't present itself however with Leofwyna on the scene. Oh well, the eats are certainly good and a day of table games is lots of fun.
