TUESDAY
Marty had taken away the trunk pieces of the apple tree with him yesterday but today he came back and chipped up the branches. I helped by picking up the smaller, bitty branches and piling them up near the chipper. It's nearly all gone now; I just need to find the rake and basket in the garage to get up the rest of the litle stuff... maybe I'll get that done tomorrow. I also need to mow and rogue dandilions out of the lawn sometime very soon.
When we bought the house more than twenty years ago we had a big elm on the west, a medium maple on the southwest and three apple and one cherry tree in the back yard. All but the maple are gone now although the city did replace the elm three years after they took it out. I certainly hope the maple holds up for the next 20-30 years and the little elm should maybe grow very quickly to make up the difference!!!
