patable2010THURSDAY
Tried to another load of clothes to the consignment shop but due to a failure to communicate someone had the day/date messed up. Had to reschedule. Back at home I finished clearing the south end of the family room and swept out the dust bunnies. I think we're ready for the furniture move.
FRIDAY
Immediately upon getting up we dressed and went out to clear access to the furniture in the garage. The "Two Men and a Truck" fellows showed up as I was moving a 18" garter snake from the back concrete apron to near the garden and compost piles. It was sluggish enough there on the cold concrete in the shade that I went for gloves and came back to catch it. Didn't want it getting stepped on. 75 minutes later we were writing out a check and saying good-bye to the fellas.
Now we have a different sofa, chair and ottoman and computer desk in our family room and the old couch and desk are in the garage awaiting another rummage sale in a couple weeks. The old chair, ottoman and entertainment center are outback. We need to run them out to the dump next week. Unfortunately the new entertainment center was about an inch too tall to be gotten down the stairs, darn it! We'll have to find something else. The garage is repacked and closed up... there's still things to do in the house to finish settling in but that's for later as Leofwyna headed off for appointments and I rested a bit to get my second wind.
Next, mowing the yard since we were able to pull out the mower during the upheaval in the garage. The lawn has gotten very tall and shaggy with all the rain. Had to get this done as it's supposed to rain again tonight. Getting the whole lawn mowed pretty much wiped me out all evening.
