MONDAY
I looked over the yard this noon and found the ground was still awfully wet from yesterday's rain so am off the hook for dealing with that today. When Leofwyna woke up she took off to get scrapbooking lettering for her poster project for work. I took the opportunity of spending the afternoon dealing with my laundry instead.
TUESDAY
Stopped in at Goodwill this afternoon and found a couple knit tops, a pair of pants and stuff. It was a pretty day and thought I should rake leaves or something but I let the light get away from me and basically didn't accomplish anything.
WEDNESDAY
Funny thing happened when I balanced my checkbook, found I'd subtracted a deposit so I was more than $600 to the good when I fixed that. Noodling around town while Leofwyna slept, I stopped at the post office to get stamps on the bill payments I was sending out. Stopped in at Salvation Army for the 50% sale and picked up a couple cotton items to add to the quilting stash. Ran over to the doctor's office to pick up more Lipitor samples. The insurance carrier is sending notices reminding me to take my medication since they apprently think I'm remiss since I haven't 'bought' any for a month or so. Stopped in at the Goodwill on that side of town and finally (after looking approximately four years) found an electric skillet to replace the poor old worn out thing we've been using, Yay!
So today we accomplished some real work when I returned home from my afternoon noodling around town. Leofwyna was up and outside pruning back plants around the place so I grabbed a rake and tarp and got up the leaves from the maple tree in the front yard. And then we worked together on the overgrown Forsythia cutting back what we call its petticoats. Gotta prevent it rooting new plants by keeping the ends of branches off the ground. Now we can see through underneath it and looks good! It got dark before we could thin out the main body of it so we'll have to get back to that another day. However, now all the compost piles are all full of leaves and there's going to be more. I wonder if I can sneak in one more compost cage without Leofwyna noticing.
Tonight was the monthly social moot but I chose to skip it to be able to work with Leofwyna on the yard while the weather was decent. This was a very good thing to do as it made her very happy with me and what we accomplished.
