THURSDAY
One interview done for a 5-attorney office with reasonable pay and bennies. Can only wait to see if I'm called in next week for a follow-up interview. It was good I'd scheduled a little extra time since I transposed South 56th with South 48th in my head; once I checked my notes caught my error and arrived right on time.
Leofwyna fixed Isfiriya, fresh corn and apple bread for supper followed by peach cobbler ala mode before heading off herself for music. I'm relaxing with television and computer for the evening. [Isfiriya is a Moroccan meat patty seasoned with cumin, coriander, cinnamon and honey - delicious hot or cold.]
Watched So You Think You Can Dance on tape when Leofwyna got back home. Was surprised that Will and Twitch was in bottom two, at least one should have been Mark and he should have gone with Comfort. Will should have been overall male winner according to both of us. Very disappointing.
I've been thinking about the A&S 50 Challenge http://artsandsciences50.org/ relative to my 12th Century personna wondering if there's 50 aspects I can apply in that narrow a perameter... But I do want to make [1] soft leather shoes, [2] tapestry slippers, hose in [3] silk, [4] linen and [5] wool, [6] linen drawers, [7] linen shifts, [8] linen coif, [9] linen headrail, [10] silk veil, [11] embroidered linen gunna, [12] embroidered wool kirtle, [13] fur-trimmed lined woolen cote, [14] hood and [15] mittens. I want to do [16] inkle weaving in the round for garters and ties, and learn [17] tablet weaving for trim. Perhaps I could build a [18] narrow wares loom. There's the [19] P.P. scroll to develop and that can be the right era including the bagpiper I found this week. I could [20] bind and [21] illuminate my own book of hours. I'll need [22] quills, [23] ink, [24] brushes and [25] paint. I had a passing thought to redo the lady's [26] traveling box with my brass mirror, [27] horn comb, [28] thread winders, [29] pins, and other sewing items. I could repair my table loom and weave [30] toweling and a [31] satchel. There's the [32] bow stave I was given in trade for a couple pairs of pants; I wonder if it's still any good. With that I'd need [33] arrows, [34] quiver, [35] wrist guard and [36] finger guard. I'd still like to make a [37] plate, [38] bowl and [39] cup as well as a sizeable [40] pipkin and carve a [41] wooden spoon for camp cooking. Perhaps with Master Gerald's help I could make [42] tripod, [43] griddle, [44] set of hooks, [45] coiled grill, [46] skillet, [47] pole lamp hook and [48] hanging hooks. I've got maple for a [49] walking stick. And of course there's the canvas for a [50] pavillion. I really don't know if I can do all of this but I'll do some research and see what else I can come up with.
Also I need to sort my garb for auction/gold key as there is some stuff I no longer use. Any non-12th century garb I do keep needs to be organized and stored separately.
