THURSDAY-SATURDAY

I neglected my journaling while our garage sale was going on.  Getting up early three days in a row for this made me a little lazy.  The sale went pretty well and we're thinking about skipping the last one in two weeks.  The only big item left is Leofwyna's oak desk so perhaps we'll box up some of the best stuff for my rummage next spring and shuffle off a pile to the thrift stores and call it done.

We did get out to the last state fair in Lincoln Friday in the cool of the evening.  We went to the quilt display and then the photography display.  We got our corn dogs and lemonade.  We took Leofwyna's favorite double ferris wheel ride (she pays for it since I do not enjoy it).  We shared a funnel cake.  It's doubtful we'll get to many state fairs out in Grand Island.

SUNDAY

I was pretty lazy today while Leofwyna headed off for work.  I did go out to the Goodwill for Senior day but they're having 99-cent clothing day tomorrow which inhibited me today; maybe I'll go back for that.  Except for the black lambswool muffler; I did buy that.  Gorgeous!  Back at home I took out several bags of trash and recycling, then did up the dishes before settling down in front of the tv for Planet Earth repeats..

SUNDAY

Got up quietly today and slipped downstairs so Leofwyna could sleep in... boy, did she sleep in!  I basically spent a major chunk of the day computalating.  At four-thirty we headed out for Bran's BD grilling party with a couple thick rib steaks and some tomato salad; we were home again by eight-thirty.  We had a nice visit with Naimh and Asa, also Boris, Brannac, Kyrstin, Mikhail, Osrik, and a couple mundane family members.  I got in a couple hours of embroidery on the banner during the evening while Leofwyna had a turn on the computor.

MONDAY

I celebrated Labor Day in the kitchen putting up another batch of roasted tomatoes, this time with oregano and did up a big load of dishes.  When Leofwyna got off work we went out to the fairgrounds for supper and to use the ride tickets she bought Saturday.  Found the double ferris wheel had been taken down so settled for the gondola ferris wheel, a very overpriced and tame short ride.

THURSDAY

Stayed home all day.  Read newspapers.  In the mail, two THREADS magazines; gotta get that sequential instead of duplicated.  I really enjoy this magazine and this particular issue is thoroughly instructional in applying basic techniques in contemporary ways.  I watered the maple tree...   Picked ripe tomatoes...

FRIDAY

Pat/NET called about freelancing there; I will not unless they come up with a contract letter to pay me hourly at my rate.  Found a note from Leofwyna... "Please take this check and get my registration for the van cause the 31st lands on the weekend."  Okay, lines will be at least an hour long, right?  Right!  Heading home stopped at Goodwill [left empty handed] and Walmart [Drumsticks, Cheddarwurst and Nutter Butters].  In the mail was an envelope with paperwork and an appointment for next Friday.  I WANT THIS!  Did a couple washer loads of laundry and put away rubbermaid of garb from Cattle Raids.

SATURDAY

Put in last laundry load this morning.  Little sister drove in for the state fair today.  We saw the best quilts, a horse gentling demonstration, part of the talent show in the open-air auditorium and ate our way in and out of the fairgrounds; Love the corn dogs and lemonaid.   However the double ferriswheel wasn't open for business so Leofwyna and I will go back Monday when she gets off work to use the ride tickets for the 'traditional' ride and get supper... more corndogs and lemonaid.  We had a lovely day, sunny with a nice cooling breeze for the afternoon.  Afterwards we went back to the house and played Tripoli, little sister enriched both our penny jars this time.
