SATURDAY

Thursday I got the window on my car fixed, or blocked into a closed position anyway.  Only sat at the mechanics five hours to get this accomplished.  When I went to pick up my prescription I learned the Insurance company indicated canceled.  Again.  Had to call FA and the insurance company to get that straightened out.  Told FA they needed to straighten out the parking lot people about charges they were erroniously being paid the last four months.  Then called Bill about transcription checks neither Leofwyna nor I have received... sixth week landed early in September so I should have rattled the bars of that cage a couple weeks ago.

Friday Leofwyna and I loaded up Mike's pickup twice with fencing, old carpeting, a chair and two pallets.  Made a good dent in the trash situation.  Another load of lump cement, more carpeting and another chair will go sometime next week... we need to do some prying and consolidating to get ready before we borrow the pickup again.  All that exercise caused me to collapse bonelessly in front of the tv for the evening; Leofwyna had enough energy to go out to scribes though.

This afternoon Natalya and I got her signature on the baronial account at the bank.   Then  back across town to pick up those prescriptions.  I did some more job search work and broke out another batch of sample books before calling it a day.

I still need to renew the car license, write checks and make apple crisp.  Want to get preliminary 3rd quarter posting completed.  Gotta remember to call kingdom exchequer too.  Probably oughta mow the lawn again.  Wonder what time it's supposed to rain tomorrow?

The new plan for home reorganization:  Instead of renting a unit in the storage area up the block get car window fixed (done) so it doesn't have to be parked in the garage and decant all the boxes in the house into garage.  Clean and redress house then one box at a time bring in goodies and treasures, putting them in proper place or tag for rummage, and return rummage items in boxes to garage.  Continue until all boxes are reviewed.  By that time rummage will be boxed and priced ready for a spring sale, the guest room and sewing area will be ready for business, and the rest of our home will be tidy and neat.

WEDNESDAY

Playing catch up today sewing passports, heading out to sign Eulalia's check and stopping at CYT computer lab to review old emails to prepare for Moot and finance committee, then home to do more passports until time to leave for Moot.   Got a solid lot of stuff done for barony business what with the Jubilee passports being sent out for upcoming events and preparation for local activities at Halloween, Baronial A&S and Yule Court.

After Moot Leofwyna, Isadora (her Pelican peer) and I went to Chili's for barbeque ribs, yumm!  Finally back at home I finished with the rest of the passports, pieced a top from cotton-blend samples and remembered to call to cancel unnecessary service appointment for computer as it's working just fine now.  I'm sure it was moisture on the lines causing static that was breaking up the connection.

Tomorrow I still need to pick up my prescriptions, renew the car license, write checks, make apple crisp, and do dishes.  I also should call the bank and Natalya regarding barony signatory and Ganzel, Sara and Rosie about checks.  And Friday I know Leofwyna has big plans taking loads and loads of yard and garage junk out to the landfill.   I may not be blogging again until Saturday if I'm to get all this accomplished.

So to start a summary of my summer... Lost my job in June, gained back most of the ten pounds I lost last year and missed Lilies again.  Little sister came home from eleven days in the hospital last Thursday so the three of us tubing down the Niobrara next weekend is postponed for another year.  That's all the moaning allowed.  I intend to keep this journal as upbeat as possible for my own sake.

Hmm, thinking positively... I want to get a few things accomplished this summer since apparently I have some time available.  1) Finally getting my sewing room set back up after two years in storage.  2) Sorting through all my 'stuff' so I can have a rummage sale this fall for some cash in hand and space in home.  3) Then the guest room can finally be completed so we can do our part as crash space for local events.  4) And lastly, clearing the weeds and roots out of the ten raised garden beds and re-carpeting the walkways between.

To expand on One and Three, two years ago we had to pack up everything in our downstairs activity room and store it in the newly refurbished but not yet assembled guest room.  Apparently our home was built just before city codes changed to require sturdier foundation standards and one corner of our basement was bowing in.  We had had problems nearly every other year with water coming in with the Spring rains so finally we had 15' of the south and 30' of the west foundation rebuilt.  We haven't seen the least sign of moisture and it's time to finish settling completely back into the basement living areas.  Fortunately the rest of the foundation is protected from the hydro problem by concrete aprons, entryways, driveway and garage.

Two, once the basement living areas are cleared, redressed and liveable there will be much 'stuff' to move along with a rummage sale.  This will also help clear a lot of 'stuff' from my bedroom upstairs also.  Since I haven't been very productive this last four years due to losing my 'best' job in 2003 when the economy went south there has been a build up of interesting 'stuff' that has been under utilized.  I'm sure some of it no longer inspires if only I can get it sorted out.  The money will come in handy as well to carry me through the current job search, the third in five years.

And Four, I really miss my fresh produce from the garden but I haven't done much more than tomatoes the last four years.  This means the weeds have invaded in a big way which makes Leofwyna very unhappy and she talks about removing the gardens altogether since grassmowing is easier to get accomplished.   So that has to be done this year and maybe soon enough to get in a fall garden as well.  [That reminds me, sometime this next month the iris beds need to be removed from the front so grass can be seeded there this fall as Leofwyna cannot get down to weed any longer.  Then it reverts to me with my lawnmowing responsibilities.

Getting all this accomplished this summer would go a long way towards making a happy household.  The only better happy making thing would be a new job with benefits!  Please, make it so!
